Intense ruby red colour with purple glints. The nose is powerful with dominant red and black berries such as black currant. The wine exhibits Mediterranean spices such as thyme and rosemary as well as liquorice notes. The wine is well balanced with good concentration, soft and smooth tannins. Very good length. It will match perfectly a rack of lamb, any Mediterranean dish, steaks and cheeses. Once belonging to a general of Napoleon Bonaparte's army, this vineyard is in the village of Valras in the Drme department. Napoleon's head is represented on the label in reference to the former owner.
