A single sip of Wente Chardonnay was enough to leave the entire tasting panel with the lasting impression that above all else, balance is central in Wente's winemaking philosophy. When you delve into the winemaking techniques adopted this is reaffirmed; 50% of the wine is fermented in French oak while the other 50% is fermented in stainless steel tanks. It was in this balance that we found a clear winner.Each summer morning, fog billows inland through the Golden Gate, pushed by Pacific wind streams into the bowl of the San Francisco Bay.
