Most of a weekly shop is the same things every week. Checking each of them for a special is the job nobody actually does, so the week your coffee is half price goes by unnoticed.
An alert does the checking. Set one on a product and you hear about it when the price falls.
Setting one
Tap the bell on a product page or on any product card.
On a product page it reads Alert me on price drops. Tap it again to stop watching.
Everything you watch is listed under the bell at the top of the page, and on Saved items in your account.
You can watch up to 200 products. Removing one never needs a subscription.
What an alert watches
An alert is set on the product, not on one shop's version of it, so it watches every retailer on that product's page. A drop at any of them counts, not just the one you were looking at when you set it.
How it reaches you
By email, once a week. Every product you watch that got cheaper arrives in one digest rather than a message each, so a weekly shop's worth of watched items is one email, not a dozen. A big week lists 40 and links to the rest.
The weekly rhythm
Most prices refresh on Wednesday mornings, with Aldi refreshed again on the weekend and fruit and veg every day. The email follows the weekly check and carries whatever the week held.
A drop that does not last
A drop we spot mid-week is checked again before the email goes out. If the shop has put the price back up in the meantime, it is left out, because it is no longer something you can act on. If it is still down but not as far, the email carries the price as it stands.
Switching it off
- One product: tap its bell again.
- The email: Notifications in your account.
What it will not do
- It is not instant. An alert hears about a drop when we next check the price, so the rhythm above is the fastest it can be.
- It is the online price. Like every price here, it is what the retailer's own website showed for the store we read. Your local shelf can differ.
- It stops when Pro does. What you watch stays listed and can still be removed. It starts reporting again when you are back.
